The Wonder Years

Sometimes when I am all wrapped up in something silly like my hair, how I am going to get all of my errands done, or what's for dinner, I forget that these are the wonder years.... those sweet days where my little one thinks I am the greatest person in the world. At bedtime tonight she snapped me right into the moment when she said "I wish I could give you a million kisses and more hugs than ever!" Someone remind me of this when she slams the door in my face when she's 14 - I'll need it!

Also, I need to put out there in cyberspace that my Hubby doesn't seem to know it, but he is a wonderful man, and a supportive loving husband and Daddy. I am one lucky woman.

Cold Sunday Afternoon

Madeline and I spent quite some time today arranging dominoes


into a very long row



which turned into a circle



then we knocked it down!

From Madeline: My dominoes are fun, my dominoes are hard, my dominoes are tricky, but I still like them a lot. Sometimes I make mistakes and knock the whole row down. Sometimes they fall down right in the middle of when I am working on them. Sometimes I knock them down on purpose. This is why I like dominoes.

More on the hair (I know, enough is enough)!

Here's the deal on the hair that I didn't tell you guys yesterday - I went to get my hair cut. I said "let's go a little shorter" and he cut off all of my hair! I can't say that I was a happy camper - actually I was near tears when I took the picture I posted yesterday. Anyway, it will grow back, it's just hair. I realize this... Rebecca wanted to see what it looked like when I styled it. Hence you get even more pictures of my hair - curtesy of Madeline :-) So, give me your hair nightmares....

So, I got a new cut, and I do mean cut! Not sure what I think yet....

Daytona 500

We had a great time on Sunday at JJ and Melissa's house watching the Daytona 500. They have a party for the race every year with the same people, and it's always really fun. Melissa always makes wonderful food (particularly deserts), so we eat too much, talk a little Nascar trash, and overall have a great time. Madeline had fun with John Robert and Carlee (who was the Queen of the party). Good times, Good Racing, Good Friends, Good Family! Thanks to John and Melissa for having the party again! You guys need to check out Steven's post about Nascar, and my Comment. It's pretty good....

Valentine's Day Fun

We had a fun Valentine's Day - One of the great benefits of me working in our little town is that I can run by Madeline's School so easily. So, I went to the Valentine's Party and helped kids make little mouse bookmarks for an hour, which was fun (you can certainly tell the difference between a bunch of 5/6 year olds before snack vs after WOW). I managed to get a few shots of Madeline and friends too, and she was really happy that I came. Kindergarten is fun!

I put a shot of the flowers that Steven sent me in there - he's a good sweet pea.

Finally, Madeline got the Webkin she's been wishing for - she seemed to really enjoy that.........

Today she is at Mom & Dads, and they are giving me a break, which is great! I am spoiled rotten!

Happy Valentine's Day

SNOW!!!!

We are FINALLY having a bit of winter weather today, so Madeline and I ran outside immediately when we got home from work and played in the snow. We really had a fun time :-) Here are a few pictures....

My Valentines

I hope that all of you have a happy Valentine's Day - we celebrated a bit early this week-end, and Madeline and I made Steven his favorite cake for Valentine's Day. I think he appreciated that we made him something special :-)

The other Valentines work we did this week-end was wrapping a shoe box in white paper for Madeline to use at school for her Valentine's Party. The funny thing was that Madeline asked for the slot in the top to be shaped like an "M" - her Dad took her up on the challenge, and I think it turned out pretty good!

A Great Day with Madeline

Madeline, Steven and I had a great day together today. Steven kindly cleaned out my car (this is why he isn't in the photos :-) Madeline and I played outside for a long time, and did some fun swing tricks. I made meatballs that I saw on Bobby Flay yesterday - they were pretty good, although not enough sauce in my opinion. Then Madeline and I had a pretend slumber party - we id crafts, played with toys, watched My Little Pony, played tickle monster, sang some karaoke, then played Sorry. It was great, and I know these are the moments that mean the world to my child, since she kept saying "this is a GREAT day Mommy!" Fun overall :-)
