My Sister's Joy

My Sister and her family got their Travel Approval to head to China to pick up Claire. They have hoped and prayed and cried and laughed and loved so long waiting for this! I wish I could be there to see their faces when they get to hold her for the first time. I wish I could express how happy I am for them that this time is finally arriving. I can't think of the right present or the right words, I just know that God is great and love endures all things (including 4 year waits)! We love you guys!

First Day of School

How well I remember the anticipation of that first day of school. Laying my clothes out the night before, looking at all of my school supplies, and for me, generally feeling sick with nerves! It is so fun to "relive" some childhood experiences through the eyes of your child. As I tried to pump Madeline to see how nervous she was about school, she looked at me and said "Mom, what do you think will happen? I'm not going to DIE" Pretty funny girl that one is. She jumped right out of the car with her backpack stuffed full of new supplies with a big smile on her face. No matter what she said I knew she was a little nervous, but still, she has more self confidence right now than I think I have ever had. As this is one of my biggest goals as a parent, I felt really proud today!
