So the conversation goes like this:
Me - "Madeline, scoot your chair in so your food doesn't fall on the floor"
Madeline - flashes Mom evil glare while breathing loudly and barely moving chair
Me - "Since you chose to make that face you won't watch TV tonight"
Madeline - "I didn't want to watch TV anyway"
Me - "Since you don't want the first punishment you can go to your room"
Madeline - "But WHY?! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!"
Now, those of you who know us take a moment to think.... does this remind you of anything?

Oh, this got a MAJOR belly laugh from me. Mark is laughing too, but can't fully "get it" like I do. She is SOOOOOO YOU! Did she stick her one toe out the door when she was banished to her room?
