First Communion

Saturday was Madeline's First Communion. What a blessed day it was! The ceremony was perfect. Father Bill's Homily was touching, the songs were beautiful (particularly one that included the names of all of the children), and the kids were so reverent and sincere. It was one of those milestones at which we pause in amazement at how grown up the kids are, the the love in the room was palatable. We had a full row of people who love Madeline there to witness the event. Afterward we had a reception for her here at our house - it was great to have so many people that she loves wholeheartedly here at the house. It was truly wonderful. Some people were missed, particularly both of her Godparents who were unable for different reasons to attend. We love them both and their presence was greatly missed. But, it was a great day. You can see from the big smile that Madeline has in these pictures. How often does a little girl get to wear a crown? Big fun!

Looks like the perfect day. The little ones with their hands praying is too cute...very Catholic! It looks like things at the church were beautiful, and that you guys had big fun back at home.

Her godmother was VERY sad not to be there! :(

We are so proud of your faith and your maturity Madeline.
